Sarah McCone
Field Consultant/Horticulturalist
  • B.S Ecology/Conservation Biology, West Chester University

Sarah McCone started her career off as a North Campus Organic Garden Intern at West Chester University of PA. Here she was able to grow her knowledge of vegetable gardening, native plants and the function of the native ecosystem. Particular attention in the garden was paid to pollinators including plants that promoted food, breeding and housing to native pollinators. She left the position when she graduated with a degree from the University in Ecology and Conservation Biology. Later Sarah took a
position as a seasonal grounds keeper at Chanticleer Garden. Here she developed new knowledge of plant health care and further developed a higher level of plant knowledge. As part of the position, she frequently ran tests on the microbiome of the soil working on an equation that relates Nitrogen to microbiome ratios. In her free time she loves to garden, hike and spend time with her family.
